turquoise blue divot-earringscopper-enamel-niobium hooks

these earrings have a comforting shape, inspired by pills. the divot was added as something to keep fingers entertained..think of it as an extension of stroking your earlobe. divot/bumpy goodness.

copper-enamel-niobium hooks

kind of like petri dishes for your ears…you can make up a science-y name for the blue dots/enamel. a type of mold possibly?

thing-a-ma-do earrings
nickel silver-niobium ear wire

these look like maybe they serve some kind of function..but what? these earrings are inspired by my love of hardware and functional bits and pieces. i worked for a power plant for a spell doing inventory of all of their hardware and machine parts. i think these earrings may have sprouted from my brain from that experience.

fissure(earrings)
sterling silver

a tiny little pair of earrings, perfect for wearing everyday. each one is made of sterling silver and has been hand-cut to form a “fissure”. if you want to do yourself a favor…do not use google images for the word fissure. not only is it a geological term…it’s a medical term too. nuff said. anyhow..these earrings are going along with the geological term.

a patina was put on them and then rubbed off, so that the crack in each one becomes enhanced. they have sterling silver post and earnuts as well.

the diameter of each earring is 1/4″.

sterling silver–enamel–steel

a pair of earrings from a series of earrings that i did by firing enamel onto steel. in this particular pair there are two different shades of blue that have been fired on, giving them a bit of variation.

green enamel earrings
sterling silver-steel-enamel

i found some steel scrap that had little holes all over it…probably used for speakers and other industrial applications. i cut a couple of discs out of the steel..and applied enamel and then fired them. added some handmade sterling silver french hooks..and they became a pair of earrings.

jewelry designed and created by jenny windler..and the occasional inspirational photograph.
