thing-a-ma-do earrings

nickel silver-niobium ear wire
these look like maybe they serve some kind of function..but what? these earrings are inspired by my love of hardware and functional bits and pieces. i worked for a power plant for a spell doing inventory of all of their hardware and machine parts. i think these earrings may have sprouted from my brain from that experience.
blue enamel rivet ring

sterling silver-steel washer-enamel
this ring was made by first torch firing a steel washer with enamel. the black speckles that happen are sort of unpredictable, so each washer always turns out a little different. i then made a sterling silver setting and riveted the washer onto the ring. not to toot my own horn, but i think this might just be the best tube rivet that i’ve ever made. i’ve been out of practice too…so i was extremely pleased with how it turned out.
enamel gear pendant

copper-enamal-sterling silver-18″snake chain
this pendant has two unique sides and it spins!
this piece is one-of-a-kind. the process in which the enamel was fired on makes it one-of-a-kind because these colors and patterns are not able to be exactly repeated. enamel can be fired onto the surface using a kiln or using a torch. i choose to use a torch because i can see the process and alter different aspects of it. the “gear” is made of enamel and copper and hangs on a hand made sterling silver wire bail. it comes on a 2mm sterling silver snake chain. the enameled disc diameter is 7/8″ and overall the piece is 1.5″ long.
more of these to come! more details and pictures of the other side at my etsy store.
spring sprout-ring

sterling silver–brass–machine screws–fake grass
this is a one-of-a-kind hand crafted ring. this ring combines my love for nature and my love for tacky things like fake grass. whoever invented it was surely a genius.
for more views of the ring and details check my etsy store. thanks!
fissure earrings

sterling silver
a tiny little pair of earrings, perfect for wearing everyday. each one is made of sterling silver and has been hand-cut to form a “fissure”. if you want to do yourself a favor…do not use google images for the word fissure. not only is it a geological term…it’s a medical term too. nuff said. anyhow..these earrings are going along with the geological term.
a patina was put on them and then rubbed off, so that the crack in each one becomes enhanced. they have sterling silver post and earnuts as well.
the diameter of each earring is 1/4″.
